During this Advent season, we reflect on the influence a promise can have on our lives. God promised each of us salvation, and kept that promise with the birth of Jesus. That promise sustains and uplifts us, during good times and challenging ones. The Christmas Joy Offering is one of the five annual PC (USA) Special Offerings. Fifty percent of receipts from this offering are distributed to the Board of Pensions for assistance programs that provide support to retired and active church workers and their spouses and families. The other fifty percent supports Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges through the Racial Ethnic and Women’s Ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Our Compassion Committee members ask that you please give generously to assist those who serve the church: past, present and future. Special giving envelopes will be available in the pews this coming Sunday.
